To run...to bike?

>>>Q & A<<<

Question: Is running or bicycling better for weight-loss?

Answer: Running and biking are both great methods of cardiovascular (aerobic) exercise. However, VO2 Max--physiological studies have shown that bicycling uses less oxygen, therefore, less calories than any other cardiovascular exercise. That being said, it may be great as a low impact cardio choice, but not necessarily beneficial for releasing fat.

The most effective methods for fat buring are those activities that are weight bearing and use multiple muscle groups such as cardio kickboxing and the eliptical machine. If you choose to use the stair climber or treadmill--swing your arms to get your upper body involved. Also, it is critical to change your exercise program every four to six weeks to continually challenge your body into adapting to the new demands placed upon it. Remember, "If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you always got." Variety is the ultimate key to success!
