NOTE:
Your body absorbs iron from animal foods more easily than iron in
foods from plants. However, to help your body absorb plant iron,
include a source of Vitamin C with your meal. Sources of Vitamin
C include: citrus fruit or juice, tomatoes, broccoli, melons, strawberries
and most deep colored fruits and vegetables.
Lastly, select
a variety of foods from all food groups and include a food high
in iron at least once a day.
