Diet No More

By Robert Ferguson
"The Master Weight-Loss Coach"

Do you deserve more than a low-calorie, highly restrictive approach to merely losing weight and being faced with the threat of gaining it all back? We believe so! As your guides -- your master coaches -- we intend to help you bridge the gap between knowing what is in your best interest, and doing what is in your best interest. This will ultimately result in you being the person that leads a lifestyle that is forever evolving.

By "evolving," we mean that the changes you make over time will guide you to a healthier lifestyle. Don't expect to get there all at once. In fact, most people who make many radical changes in their lifestyle find that they can't sustain them over time. Instead, begin making healthier choices today, and learn to continually re-evaluate your habits. Over time, you'll replace unhealthy habits with new, healthier ones. Lifestyles that evolve over time are easier to sustain.

Delete "diet" from your vocabulary
We will not forbid you to eat certain foods. We aren't in the business of magic potions or supplements that promise instant results. We are experts in recognizing where you are, and helping you establish a lifestyle that doesn't include dieting. We do this by providing you with the necessary knowledge, tools and inspiration to create health daily. One of our goals is to heighten your awareness of how you can enjoy the benefits of exercise and keep the taste, convenience and satisfaction in your food choices.

From this day forward, we encourage you to think of diets as schemes -- misrepresentations of healthy and vibrant living. In our opinion, dieting is nothing short of being misled, deceived and eventually disappointed. As you will learn in working with Wellness Weight-Loss, diets diminish the very element that is responsible for an efficient metabolism. But before you learn more about how diets negatively affect your long-term success, let's first take a closer look at our approach to weight loss, and the crucial difference between releasing fat and losing fat.

The "non-diet"philosophy
What makes Wellness Weight-Loss different from those that claim to be the best of the best when it comes to weight loss? First of all, let us remind you that the Wellness Weight-Loss process is not a diet, but a way of evolving in your life. There are no lifetime memberships, no pre-packaged foods and we do not recommend one group of food over another. Wellness Weight-Loss is purely a process to releasing body fat and keeping it from coming back. Furthermore, the Wellness Weight-Loss process encourages you to evaluate -- not judge -- the thoughts you think and the actions you take. This philosophy alone increases the likelihood that you'll experience long-term success.

Now that you have a clearer understanding of our beliefs, it's time to jump start your "resolve to evolve" by making the great exchange -- substituting words that best describe the approach you take toward weight loss. For instance, instead of saying, "I am losing fat" we encourage you to say, "I am releasing fat." Believe it or not, there is a critical distinction between losing and releasing fat.

Consider the universal principle that says, "What we lose, we eventually find again." A great example of this principle is losing your car keys and finding them again. Your body fat is no different. As many people can attest, 10 pounds lost is often another 10 or 15 pounds gained. Fortunately, managing your weight does not have to be this way.

Think of releasing fat from your body as holding on to a string that is attached to a helium balloon. The helium balloon in this analogy is your body fat. Once you let go of the string, the balloon (body fat), it is gone forever.

Webster's New World Dictionary defines release as: to let go -- to set free. We sincerely hope that you no longer lose body fat, but learn to release it. To schedule a complimentary session with a Wellness Weight-Loss Coach, call (805) 642-8440 or send us an e-mail.
